FAQ - Colonics

Q: What should I do before my colonic?
A: It's important that you are not digesting food during your colonic.  You can eat up to two hours before your session and then immediately after your session if you wish.  Additionally the more hydrated you are the easier the session will be on your body.  We recommend plain purified water.

A: You can receive a colonic no matter where you are in your monthly cycle as long as you aren't pregnant.  If you are bloated you may find relief by having a colonic on the first or second day of your period.

A: There are several things you can do to contribute to the success of your colonic.

The first thing is hydration.  Our society is chronically dehydrated and we tend to eat foods that are dead and dehydrating as well.  Make water a priority for at least a week before your session.  Keep a journal of what you eat and drink.  You'll be surprised at how much water you are actually drinking vs. how much water you thought you were drinking.  (Coffee, tea and soda don't count towards your water intake!)  The USDA says half your body weight in ounces a day minimum...

The second thing is diet.  Are you eating foods that have fiber and actual nutrition your body needs?  We recommend raw, ripe and organic fruits and veggies.  Start with the 5 servings the USDA recommends and increase if you feel inspired.  Raw fruits and veggies are hydrating, full of nutrients and full of natural fiber.  If you want to go a step farther on fiber organic flax is an excellent source and it's easier on the body than over the counter fiber pills and powders.

The third thing is your overall ability to relax.  Are you exhausted?  Do you need more rest?  When was the last time you exercised?  If you own a rebounder use it before your session.  If not any type of exercise will get your lymphatic system going.  Be sure to check with your dr. or licensed health care provider if you have any questions.

A: Of course!  Every "body" is different, however you can resume your normal activities after a session.  You will have the opportunity to use the restroom, regroup and ask any final questions before you leave.

A: This is probably the most controversial question I receive.  Personally I don't answer that question for a person until after their first colonic so I can see what's going on in their body.  And even then, I'm only making a recommendation.  Only you can decide what's best for your body.  It took years to get to your current state of being.  It's unrealistic to expect one session to undue everything you've done to your colon.  If you are constipated, it's unlikely one colonic will be all that's required.  However one colonic is a great start!  If you just want to try it, then come try it!  One colonic can make an amazing difference in how you feel!
