Brittany Crist, Certified Colon Hydrotherapist
Brittany Crist was introduced to colonics two years after an emergency gall bladder surgery that left her feeling sick every time she ate. Colon hydrotherapy combined with changes in her diet was the only thing that helped her recover. Based on the drastic changes she felt in her body, Brittany eventually saw how she can help others experience profound relief in their body.
Brittany is a certified colon hydrotherapist who studied at the Dotolo Institute and ReNew Life’s School for Colon Hydrotherapy. Additionally she apprenticed and worked as a colonic therapist at the Ann Wigmore Natural Health Institute in Puerto Rico. Over the past 7 years, Brittany trained with 15 other colon hydrotherapists to learn the ins and outs of this work and they ways it can help others.
To expand her knowledge of the body, Brittany also graduated from the therapeutic massage program at Western States Chiropractic College.
She is known for her ability to put clients at ease and hold a safe space for the body to transform. She jokes about knowing more than she ever thought possible about the colon and about letting go of that which no longer serves you.
Laurie Schaefer, LMT #17493
Laurie is a licensed massage therapist, practicing therapeutic Lymphatic, Swedish and Relaxation massage in the Portland, OR area. She graduated from East West College of massage therapy with 600 hours of class study and massage training, and went on to complete an additional 48 hours of private, hands-on instruction in lymphatic massage from Dr. William Brown at The Foundation for Holistic Health Therapy in Sedona, Arizona.
Laurie was born with an innate interest in touch therapy and hands that radiate intense heat. Her massage therapy style uses a combination of firm, warm strokes, vibration, kneading, gentle stretching, and lymphatic strokes in an atmosphere of low level lighting and gentle, soft music, to encourage vocal silence and bring about therapeutic release, deep relaxation and greater lymphatic flow. Laurie brings a personal experience of physical movement, acrobatics, cycling and yoga to her practice, to assess, intuit and assist the release of client postural restrictions and holding patterns.
Inspired by challenges with her own mother, Laurie also offers small group and private workshop classes to caregivers of family members with Alzheimer’s, to teach them how to use lymphatic massage to reduce anxiety and help them spend more quality time together with loved ones suffering from this disease.
Laurie is passionate about physical wellness and enjoys biking around Portland, rain or shine.
